Teaching today's youth so they are tomorrow's advocates is a critical and absolute must for all involved, not only in NILE but also agriculture in general. The 4th Grade Ag Education program does just that.
This is a collaborative effort with the NILE, the surrounding Counties' Extension Service and the Conservation District that allows youngsters and their teachers the opportunity to have a tactile experience learning about many agricultural facts. Students will explore educational booths about water and soil conservation, honey bees, native weeds, grasses, and plants, and come face to face with farm animals.
Do you have any connection with area schools, teachers, or administration? Share the opportunity, and send them an invite. The NILE would be happy to incorporate new schools in this program.
The 4th Grade Ag Education touches the lives of nearly 2,000 4th grade students over a three day span. Thank you to all the volunteers that help make this program possible!
