NILE offers two forms of scholarships:
1) A $500 college scholarship
Ten scholarships were awarded in May 2008 (see 2008 winners below)
Annual Deadline to Apply: April 3
Open to graduating seniors who have been involved in NILE activities

and

2) A live-animal scholarship called the NILE Merit Heifer Program.

Billings, MT -- Ten teenagers have been named as 2008 recipients of college scholarships from the Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE), each in the amount of $500. Scholarships were awarded to:
Alison Baue of Hysham, MT. She is the daughter of Allen and Ruth Baue. She is a senior at Hysham High School. Alison will attend South Dakota School of Mines-Rapid City and major in Industrial and BioMedical Engineering.
Caleb Boardman of Frannie, WY. Caleb is the son of Russ and Leslie Boardman. He is a senior at Rocky Mountain High School in Byron, WY. He will attend Coffeyville Community College in Kansas where he will major in Ag Business.
Colter Brown of Huntley, MT. He is the son of Taylor and Shannon Brown and is a senior at Huntley Project High School. Colter will attend Montana State University and major in Ag business.
Eben Nordahl of Molt, MT. Eben is the son of Allen and Amber Nordahl and is a senior at Rapelje High School. He plans on attending South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and study Mine Engineering and Management.
Elizabeth Smith of Glen, MT. Elizabeth is the daughter of Randy and Emily Smith and is a senior at Beaverhead County High School. She will attend Montana State University and study Animal Science.
James Kapp of Steele, ND. He is the son of Marlin and Julie Kapp and will graduate from Steele-Dawson High School this spring. James will attend North Dakota State University and major in Veterinary Medicine.
Kelsey Kincheloe of Huntley, MT. She is the daughter of Kevin and Beth Kincheloe and is a senior at Huntley Project High School. Kelsey will attend Northwest College in Powell, WY and study Ag Business.
Pamela Vanek of Silesia, MT. Pamela is the daughter of Leonard and Dianne Vanek and is a senior at Joliet High School. She will attend Northwest College in Powell, WY and major in Ag Business.
Stephanie Schroeder of Douglas, WY. She is the daughter of Tim and Jean Schroeder and is a senior at Douglas High School. Stephanie plans on attending the University of Wyoming and study Veterinary Science.
Whitney Grice of Ballantine, MT. She is the daughter of Greg and Deb Grice and a senior at Huntley Project High School. She will attend the University of Montana Western and major in Business.
Award winners were selected by a committee of NILE members. Selection criteria included involvement in NILE activities, academic achievement, community contribution and financial need.
The Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) -- best known for production of the annual NILE Stock Show, ProRodeo & Horse Extravaganza in October and the PBR NILE Bull Riders Invitational in April -- is a non-profit association based in Billings dedicated to the promotion of livestock, youth education and western tradition. Annually, NILE awards $5,000 in collegiate scholarships and more than $30,000 in live-animal scholarships to youth.
